Welcome to "What's Next Marinelli"!
What better way to welcome you all and make you feel at home here, than food right? ;)
So here's a really delish appetizer, snack or party food!
I got this recipe from my friend/classmate, Kristen.
Hi Kristen! :)
She brought it one time in a potluck and wow I love it
and have been craving for it since then.
Thankfully, Kristen is very nice to share the recipe.
It's really simple and easy to prepare.
And yes it will be a sure hit in potlucks or parties.
I also want to share it forward, just like how good friends like Kristen shared it to me.
So here you go!
You can easily Pin my recipes on Pinterest too, so just Pin away! ;)
Ingredients:
1 pack12oz(340g) bacon
1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup chili sauce
Procedure:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Cut each strip of bacon in half.
Wrap one strip around one or two slices of water chestnut.
Secure with a wooden toothpick.
Place in shallow baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 minutes.
While the wraps are baking...
...in a small mixing bowl combine
brown sugar, mayonnaise, and chili sauce to make barbecue sauce.
After the wraps have finished baking, drain & remove the bacon grease.
Then pour the sauce over the wraps.
Bake again at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 15 to 20 additional minutes,
or until bacon is crispy.
Et Voila!
Your yummy Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts are ready.
You can serve it on the actual dish that you used for baking it...
...or you can also arrange it in a nice plate...
...and change the toothpicks with nice decorated ones.
Like on this one, I used French flags that goes pretty well with my Paris plates.
Bon Appétit!
=D
